Mrs. Sims has been an educator for over thirteen years.  Mrs. Sims is a native of Clinton, LA where she graduated from Clinton High School.  Ms. Sims attended Southern University and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education.  Mrs. Sims began her career in education in 1995 with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.  She has been involved in many community and school endeavors. 

She was selected as Teacher of the Year at Glen Oaks Middle School in 2000 and won the Brotherhood/Sisterhood Award in 2001.

Mrs. Sims' educational career includes assignments at North Highlands Elementary, Jackson School Complex, Glen Oaks Middle and for the past three and a half years she has been assigned to Sherwood Middle Academic Magnet School where she was appointed as Magnet Lead Teacher in January 2008.

 Mrs. Sims is grateful to God and Mrs. Crawford for the confidence in her and for the opportunity to serve as Magnet Lead Teacher at the greatest middle school ever, where we strive for excellence everyday.

Mrs. Sims is married to John Sims and they have two children, Zahria and Zavier.  She is involved in several community organization including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 

Mrs. Sims is excited about being at Sherwood Middle and about making a valuable contribution to the students.  Her fulfillment in life comes from knowing that she is contributing to equipping students for their purpose and lifelong mission in the world.
