  1. Students should Complete LEAP Review 13
  2. Students should highlight information in Review Packets 8-12, that is aligned with the 8th grade GLE's.  They should also take brief notes for each of the GLE's and complete GLE 8 -35.

Description:
  • We have been working on the Nature of Matter in class.  Students have been putting together booklets to use as a study guide.  We have been adding information to these booklets everyday. 
  • Students will study for a quiz on Matter on 10-28-09.  They should use their booklets to study.

Conversions

Description:
  1. Metric Conversions Worksheet:  Ladder Method
  2. Temperature conversions Worksheet:  Using the equations to covert from one unit of temperature to the next.

We have been working on measurement labs for the last week and a half.  We are now working on converting metric units and temperature.  We will have a test on Scientific Methods and measurements on Tuesday of next week.  We will work on study guides in class and they will go home on Friday.  Study hard.

Graphing and Measurement

Description:
  • Complete the remainder of the graphs in the packet.  Remember to use colors on the three graphs.  One is a double bar graph, one is a 3- line graph and the other is a 6-line graph. 
  • Complete the measurement packet (All classes except 4B)

Graphing
Point Value: 25

Description:
  • Complete the bar graph using the data from the paper towel lab. 
  1. Bar graph should be colorful using all 7 brands of paper towel. 
  2. Each bar should use two squares of the grid and skip one square between each bar.
  3. Cut the bar graph out and glue it to half of a piece of construction paper.  Graphs should be done by hand and not computer generated.
  4. On the other half of construction paper, place your data table which should neatly be typed or hand written.
  5. Don't forget to place a title on your graph and Table and to label axes.
  6. On the back side of the construction paper, glue the Analysis portion of the lab.  Be sure to answer all 3 questions and to put you name on it.

Description:

1.  Complete the two safety worksheets:  Spongebob has 20 corrections and the Picture has 14.  Circle at least 10 on the picture and write the safety rule that should be followed on the back of the sheet.

2.  Lab safety quiz:  Aug. 17 - A-Day and Aug. 18 - B-Day

1st Day

Description:

1. The first day has been a success in all of my classes.  I have enjoyed meeting all of you and know this will be a great year.  Review the Expectations and Classroom Procedures with your parents and have them sign the last page.  This is due next class period.

2.  Bulletin Board bonus has been given.  Worth 10 points.  Good way to start the year off.  Due Aug. 24th (A-Day) and 25th (B-Day).
