The LSU Rural Life Museum will present the fourteenth annual Harvest Days on September 26 & 27, 2009. This educational event will interpret life in nineteenth century rural Louisiana. Living history demonstrations by twenty five renowned artisans will focus on agricultural and domestic activities common on plantations and farms at harvest time.

This year there will be even more activity, as the Rural Life Museum commemorates the 147th anniversary of the Civil War Battle of Baton Rouge.

If you attend this event, you may receive up to 15 bonus points for completing the following:

1. Get a brochure from the event signed by a staff member at the museum.

2. Write a 1 page reflection about what you learned from this event. (Not what you saw.) I want you to write about the culture of the people in South Louisiana at this time period. You paper must be 1 page typed, double spaced, with a title including your name, date, and class period.

This bonus assignment will be due by September 30, 2009.
